No comments, no counters

Decided against comments, likes, and view counts here, and I want to write down why before I forget and add them.

Every metric I’ve ever put on my own writing changed what I wrote. Not dramatically — just a slow drift toward the things that did numbers. The drift is the problem, and it’s invisible while it’s happening.

Part of the audience for this site is me in six months, and that reader doesn’t leave likes.
